Scaling Terrorism

Last month, I was invited to a Manhattan roundtable conference on terrorism.  The main speaker was retired General Scales, a frequent contributor to Fox News.  General Scales has spent most of his life in the military and has become a leading expert on terrorism.   

His small appearances on Fox do not do the general justice.  This Westpointer and Vietnam veteran is well-read, well-spoken and presents a riveting analysis of the current geo-political situation.  You truly feel you're getting the nitty gritty details; in short, exactly the type of information you won't get from soundbytes sandwiched between commercials.

Matt, Do you know what a "wedge issue" is? If one plays upon the fears and prejudices of others, one can unite the fearful and prejudiced in the electorate. This kind of strategy is known to be "devisive." If manipulation of the "message" is really good, they can effectively shut out the more rational thoughts of their opposition. Anytime any group is dehumanized for political purposes, WATCH OUT! Rather than seeing THEM as US ... THEY are being seen AS THEM who are a threat to US. This strategy is non UNIFYING. Get it now, sweetheart? The Messenger never said, KILL OUR ENEMIES, prevent those who are different from sharing in the power, or only love THOSE like us. We are FAMILY ... even the lowest amongst us! Look for the power of the Holy Spirit to fill your heart ... and you too many understand the Great Messenger. The better translation from the Latin is: God is "Caritas" or Charity. He is also Truth, and liberals reject a lot of the truth, e.g. homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. The truth can be very divisive, and Christ Himself stated that he came to *divide* mankind. So there is nothing wrong with being divisive.

Also, it is isn't charitable to anyone not to fight terrorism. It was hard to tell what your point was in the above comment, but you seem to be saying that the War on Terrorism is wrong because "God is Love." That doesn't make any logical sense.
